Ikwetta has made me two custom chukka boots: Both raw goat skin. The first was brown and the second was white with black poker dots. There is nowhere I have been without compliments. On the subway in NYC, on the ferry, among colleagues as a serve them at work. Ikwetta has come through for me with the one of a kind. These are the white with black poker dots.
I don’t recommend buying shoes on-line with Ikwetta. Their sizing is just too variable. Better go to a shop & try them on first. What’s more they sent me 2 shoes of different sizes! One shoe sized 39 & the other size 40, I would have thought the basic principal in shoe production was to keep pairs together. So after much apologetic communication with Mary at Ikwetta, who messaged me that the correct size boots was dispatched on 3 August & they would be DELIVERED early Monday, ("I will not fail you", she wrote). In fact she still had not dispatched until Monday 5/08, and I never received them until 2 days later on 7/08. They use Fargo courier, who are so slow they take 2 days to deliver within Nairobi! I had already bought one pair of these boots in their shop, and I was very happy with them. Unfortunately the pair I finally ended up with was one shoe wider than the other, and I have a narrow foot. I was so tired of my experience with the on-line order, I could not face returning the wider boot. Mary sent plenty of sorry sorry messages, but frankly no amount of sorry’s can cover POOR SERVICE! My husband had a similar experience, he had to return a pair of shoes due to a fault, and the pair they returned were not fitting the same, despite being the same size. I say Never again to Ikwetta on-line shoe orders.
